I have been busy for the past month, very busy. There are more people that know about the restaurant that we are working. Been very very busy for the past couple weeks. Sometimes it is very frustrated to work there as I am trying to do my best to make the best food, good taste for the customer and also we, the cooks, are trying to do our best to cook it faster. (always wondering if the customer would love the food or not.)... The frustration, sometimes, makes me want to give up the job. Anyway, I just realized it now that the experience makes my life more beautiful and more worth it. I have learned a lot from the job. Last week Jon bought me a NeW D-SLR camera. It's very nice of him. It is a wonderful gift from him. I am very happy with the gift he gave.. it's very precious to me as I love taking photos. I don't go to work tonight.. Just want to spend a little bit more time with JOn. We rarely have time to spend with each other(I mean only 2 of us)comparing to other couples I think.

Jon just got accepted into Sociology Grad program at BYU so we are going to be in Utah for another 2 years. He only applied to go to grad school at BYU though. I know that if he applied to get into another Grad schools he would be able get into any top ten grad schools for sociology program. Jon has a lot of potential to accomplish something that he wants. He is a very smart one. I am so proud of him..

By the way, 2 more years of being in Utah would be bearable.. Exploring the world would be an awesome idea! But the money is an issue. :)

Oh Jon just got a new job last week as well. He is happy!

Our betta FisH, AMATA(his name in Thai which means Eternal Life), is still alive!! And Jon is happy about it..

CD 1 Month 5 on Clomid

GUTTED!!!!!!! is how I feel today. I was so certain that this would be our month and I have been bought back down to earth with an almighty bump this morning.

I got up and did a first response pg test first thing and got a BFN so was gutted then anyway but now af has arrived I feel even lower if that is possible.

I had all the 'right' symptoms. My (.Y.) felt like they did when I was pregnant with Ellie, I was peeing for England and was so exhausted.

Dh was brilliant this morning and held me and cuddled me whilst I sobbed my heart out. He even joked that we would have to go back to bed everyday whilst the kids were in school to try and lift me.

At the moment I feel as if it will never happen again for us. I know I am so blessed and lucky to have Joshua and Ellie but I have always wanted a large family and it feels like it is slipping further and further away from me!! This is probably just the hormones talking though and on a positive day I do think it will happen eventually but I am not terribly patient!!

The only way I can try to deal with the huge disappointment of this month is to focus on May and come up with a plan.

I am going to really get back on the wagon and lose as much weight as possible. Now the kids are going to school I will start at either Weight Watchers or Slimming World this week and will also join the gym at our local sports centre as I am carrying a fair bit of excess weight and need to get as much off as possible. I only have enough Clomid left for this month and next month and if they don't work will have to get my doctor to prescribe me some more and I am worried that he may refuse if I haven't lost enough weight.

Also plan on using the clearblue digital ovulation tests to be 100% certain that I am ov'ing from day 11 onwards.

Plan on going back to bed with dh practically every day when the kids are in school as I am too tired sometimes in the evenings and much prefer it in the mornings.

I am in agony today with my left ovary. It is really giving me some jip!! Dh has been a star and walked to tesco express at 7am to get me some painkillers as the pain is so bad!!

Josh wanted to go to church this morning (he's a good catholic boy!) but I just want to sit here curled up on the settee watching the marathon and the F1 Grand Prix.

Josh has a St George's Day Parade on this afternoon with Cub's in the park but I don't really want to move as I am worried about it being so heavy (sorry tmi!!)but will have to make myself. I am hoping af is like last month where it wasn't too bad but I am in the most pain I can remember with it at the moment.

I need to get my blood test done again this week for anaemia to see if things have improved. I have no idea whether they have and am worried that if this af is really heavy then it will undo all that the iron tablets have done over the last month and a bit. Plus I have been so exhausted this week but that could be to do with the fact that I have been running round like a headless chicken sorting out the kids uniform ready for starting school tomorrow.

Dh is at work but at least he is off every Mon-Fri til the end of May when he does 7 days a week til the end of the season at the beginning of November. No doubt he will rope me into helping him whilst the kids are at school.

I really need a holiday at the moment but with the kids just about to start school then we have no chance. We had hoped to go over to my BIL's caravan for a couple of nights but never got a chance to with the kids deciding to go to school. Might see if finances allow if we can have a night away on our own at our favourite hotel around ov time this month. Finances have been tight the last few weeks as practically every penny we have has gone into our business so I hope it picks up soon and we start to earn some money or we will be living on bread and water for a month or two!!

Hopefully I will feel better in a few days once af is finished and we can concentrate on the month ahead.

Don't get me wrong - Barry is entitled to his emotions. My wife has even accused me of the same thing at times when I'm naturally a little cranky. I can only imagine if I'd also had a drug inside me designed to amp up in women's bodies the sometimes challenging cycles of fertility. Not to be un-PC but "The View" can get pretty scary some days.
Don't bad news. Mr. Bonds is not about to be another Thomas Beatie, the famous pregnant man. Lance and Mark did not go to jail and continue their impressive reporting careers. The on-the-field baseball career of Mr. Bonds is over, a victim of age and that case. A judge or jury will decide if Mr. Bonds committed perjury about his steroid use. This morning he pled "not guilty."
But we're only left to imagine the crime war waged under his skin in the gender-bending days when Clomid met "The Clear.

Yet again, we have a girl with a unique name who must move out of her hometown and encounters the paranormal in her new, small town. From the editorial review:

"Zara's stepfather has died, her mother isn't capable of caring for her, and she has been sent to live with her grandmother in a small remote town in Maine."

Her mother isn't capable of caring for her? So she shoves her off to her grandmother? Have any of these incompetent writers actually experienced the loss of a parent figure, for all that they write about it?

"When her car spins out of control, she's rescued by sexy Nick (who turns out to be a werewolf), and something might be cooking with her overachieving classmate Ian."

Instead of a vampire who saves said girl from a car crushing her, we have a werewolf. A sexy werewolf. Do I sense a love triangle brewing?

"Too bad she's being followed by someone dark and dangerousa pixie king."

Yes, too bad.

"This pixie is no harmless sprite: when not mated with a queen for an unspecified amount of time, Zara learns, the pixie kings will demand... young human men, who they kill after using them for their blood-hungry pleasures."

Wait, wait, huh?

"Will Zara sacrifice herself to this vampire stand-in or let him destroy everything she loves?"

Because the writer did not want to explicitly show vampires in her novel, she instead uses fairies? Blood-thirsty fairies/vampires versus...werewolves? I have never heard of this before! The stories just become more and more ridiculous.

And what is with sparkles and flowers and trails of golden dust? Yes, you heard me. Pixie dust.

Marked (House of Night, Book 1) by P.C. Cast

I won't go too much into this one, other than to say that the premise is silly, overdone and the introduction is nonchalantly stupid. Vampires are "vampyres," because somebody is trying to be original. I will enlighten you all with the first paragraph:

"Just when I thought my day couldn't get any worse I saw the dead guy standing next to my locker. Kayla was talking nonstop in her usual K-babble, and she didn't even notice him. At first. Actually, now that I think about it, no one else noticed him until he spoke, which is, tragically, more evidence of my freakish inability to fit in."

Get over yourself. That is really all I have to say to the protagonist of this book. If the worst thing that happens to you in your glamorous life is that a vampyre (which, according to the back of the book, is normal in Cast's world) is physically close to your locker! Vampires are undead, by the way, Ms. Cast. The first paragraph makes the reader imagine that a corpse is lying dead next to Zoey's locker, which probably would have been more interesting, if absurd. And yet somehow, all Zoey can think about is her status as a tragic outcast, because when the undead run the earth, fitting in in high school is the most important thing in the world.

Tantalize by Cynthia Leitich Smith

Must the title always be some overly dramatic or blantantly sexual single-word? Nevertheless, our character Quincie, another uniquely named character who experiences death and then moves in with a relative. Yes, the restaraunt her uncle owns is called "Sanguini," which means blood. The editorial review reads:

"Following her parents' death, Quincie Morris was left in her Uncle Davidson's care, and the fate of the family's Italian restaurant was left in hers. Now 17, Quincie, who narrates, and her uncle have renamed the place Sanguini's. They've remodeled it with a "vampire theme," which they believe will sell in their Texas college town since "vampires are a fringe population, and Austin is a tolerant place." A month before the grand re-opening, however, the longtime chef is mauled to death in the kitchen, and the murder suspect is a werewolf. Quincie finds this problematic, since her lifelong best friend and love interest, Kieren, is a "hybrid werewolf" who traces his lupine heritage to the wolves that roamed Ireland with St. Patrick. A new chef shows up who may be talented but is also spooky, with red contact lenses, pale hair and a menu featuring sweetbreads, blood sausage and baby squirrels in honey cream sauce. Best known for her Native American stories, Smith uses advertisements, newspaper clippings and menu pages to liven the pace, and creates palpable tension in the novel's second half. Native Americans, werewolves, vampires? Does this not seem remotely familiar to the works of Meyer? I won't even go into the absurd and ridicouls nature of this novel's premesis. Supernatural boyfriend true love abound.

Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber

Ms. Shreiber, please, stop now. The protagonist's name is Raven, which every 14-year-old knows is taboo Mary Sue territory. Raven is also gothic, an outsider, and self-centered. She falls in love with a vampire. I won't go on, because I have read this sort of rubbish on fanfiction.net.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

Please, for the sake of decent literature, stop writing vampire romance.

"After two years on the run, best friends Rose, half-human/half-vampire, and Lissa, a mortal vampire princess, are caught and returned to St. Vladimir's Academy. Up until then, Rose had kept Lissa safe from her enemies; school, however, brings both girls additional challenges and responsibilities. Fanfiction-esque ridiculousness insues! I cannot believe that the school is named St. Vladimir. Honestly, it is borderline satire. A mortal vampire princess is impossible and antithetical to the vampire myth. Like I already said about one of the other novels: when the undead roam the earth, the last thing anyone would be concerned about is popularity, gossip and boyfriends.

The Vampire Diaries: The Fury and Dark Reunion by L.J. Smith

Possession, shallow love, meticulous vampire romance. Is it only me, or is every other male protagonist/vampire lover named Damon, or some variant? Is it because Damon sounds someone like "demon"?

Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

Ridiculous, vapid title for such a serious sounding premise for a novel. A girl, with a surprisingly normal name, is a reincarnated vampire princess who is being hooked up with some hot, ancient vampire. No, not just hot, but impossibly handsome. Jesus Christ! Fantasy-fulfillment abound! Speaking of lost princesses, Antanasia sounds a bit too much like Anastasia for my tastes.

Evernight by Claudia Gray

"Well-dressed, private-school vampires are a growing trend in teen horror lit. Bloodsucking Gossip Girls have shown up in Melissa de la Cruzs Blue Bloods series, Richelle Meads Vampire Academy books, and now in this debut, set in a spooky, exclusive boarding school. Sixteen-year-old Bianca is dreading her first day at Evernight Academy, where her parents have taken teaching positions. Then she meets handsome outsider Lucas, for whom she falls with quick intensity. In conclusion, for the sake of literature, please young women writers, please stop writing corny, wish-fulfillment vampire romance. Please stop writing about unseeming outsider girls with strange names moving to quiet towns or glamorous academies. And above all, please stop writing about said girl falling in love with some gorgeous vampire/werewolf/fairy ridiculously named boy. I will now return to reading Open Veins of Latin America - a beautifully written book - and write my own novel.

I had my annual gyn appt yesterday - it was two hours (most of it waiting) but it went pretty well. The Dr. was not impressed with my ovusoft charts, though. He said bbt's are too unreliable - I just said that I had to disagree and left it at that. He was supportive of my use of NPC but was skeptical that it would help me to ovulate on my own. I am just going to keep fingers crossed and think positively!
Today my cervix is again soft, high and open and I had a big temp dip down to 96.44 today! Praying that I actually O on my own so I can supplement with the NPC soon.
I am continuing to increase my daily fruit/veggie intake and lower my refined sugars/carbs. I am eating only healthy carbs such as whole wheat pasta, brown rice, etc... and only one serving per day. I am losing my tummy, which is great! I'm really trying to be healthy and I hope that the NPC will be a good supplement in the lp for me.

My partner is actually quite excited about doing his sperm test because he gets to go into a clinic that has rooms especially for this (you know rooms full of porn and magazines and little fridges stocked full of soft drink). Why do the guys always get luxury when we always get injections and our legs in stirrups? Something just isn't fair in that sense.

But he did stick to his deal this month and wore boxer shorts the entire month - in fact he is still wearing them even though he doesn't really need to anymore. Men are funny.

Another thing my gyno told me that I found interesting was that the best chance of falling pregnant is NOT having sex every night or even every second night like we've been doing as that can dilute the sperm. Instead you should get some ovulation predictor kits so you know when you are about to ovulate, and your partner should abstain from ejaculation for at least five days prior. When you are ovulating (as soon as the OPK's turn positive) you should then have sex just one time. That way the sperm will be ultra concentrated and that will give you the best chance of conceiving.

One time huh?

Well, looks like I'm off to buy some opk's from eBay then.

AF is beginning to slow down. Usually around day four she begins to go away and if she does not disappear all together today then she should be gone by tomorrow. Tomorrow I begin CD5 and start the Clomid. Hopefully it will help me OV this month and DH and I will get a BFP at the end of April. One can only hope.

Not much happening yet today. Got up, took a shower, put on clothing, and now just on the computer checking email and writing on my blogs. I think that the pain killers have really helped me out with AF this month. I have been trying my best not to take medicine at all when I have aches or pains, however I know that there will be times in pregnancy that I will want to take some pain killers. That is why I am training my body now to withstand the pain.

Raining today in Missouri. Probably will not be the warmest day either. Hopefully the sun will come out today and it will be beautiful. Going to eat breakfast here in a moment. Still worried about eating hard and crunchy food on my new tooth filling. The dentist said that it would be alright and I could even eat food right away after it was done. It just feel strange, not like my other teeth obviously because it is a filling. I just have not had a filling in so long and don't want it to pop out and then really be in some pain. Perhaps I should test my filling out this morning with grape nuts. Or maybe I should just stick to fruit and toast. I'll see what I decide in a moment.

After my discharge from the hospital, it took me about a week and a half to recover from the laparoscopy. I needed assistance rising from a lying or seated position, on and off the toilet, bathing. I have three small scars, one in the navel, and the other two where my ovaries are/were. When I began employment in April 2004 as a corporate security officer, my health was still iffy. I was still too thin at 109 pounds. I was gaunt, frail, even the slightest common cold would set me back two weeks. To top it off, I was commuting from an hour or more North, twice a day, five days a week. One early morning as I returned home from a double shift, I fell asleep at the wheel and ended up with $3,500 worth of damage to the front end of the car I had just bought. In 2006, I moved closer to work finally. In November of that year, I had a bad experience at work one night as I was performing a routine foot patrol in my building. I suddenly felt extremely nauseous, shaky, and dizzy. I had stabbing pain that was so bad I could barely walk, and I actually had to lie on the floor. I considered radioing my supervisor for assistance, but my pride stood in my way. I had another pain episode that December.
My mother told me about an article that she had read in Womens Day magazine about a clinic in Florida called Clear Passage. It consisted of deep tissue massage for women with infertility and pain caused by infertility. They also claimed to open blocked fallopian tubes. Because I really wanted to have a child, I decided to give Clear Passage a try.
After securing credit and a payment plan, I flew to Florida in June 2007 and spent a week in wonderful weather. For two hours at a time, twice a day, five days a week, I endured some pretty painful external and internal manipulation. I was always tired, yet felt good, when I left the clinic for my hotel room. I went to Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom and Sea World for the first time, and I cried at both places because I was so thrilled to be there. Those were the trips I dreamt of as a little girl, and there I was at age 33. I also decided to eliminate most of the main offending items from my life as possible, mainly certain food and body products. Endometriosis feeds off of estrogen, a womans primary hormone. After doing some research, I decided to consume organic offenders: meats, dairy, and eggs. I now consume organic or all-natural beef, chicken, pork, milk, cheese, and eggs. Body products containing chemicals called parabens (methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, etc.), pthalates, and chemicals ending in the suffix -eth (laureth, etc.) are offenders in products such as hair care, body lotions, and cosmetics. I am a huge fan of Burts Bees lotions. They smell great, a little goes a long way, and they work well without a tremendously greasy after feel. I finally put on weight, going from 109 in 2004 to 135 today.
Because Clear Passage did not succeed in opening my remaining right fallopian tube, my hospital has determined that IVF (in vitro fertilization) is likely my best bet in becoming a mother.

I know it was prob a bit early but I am out tonight and wondered if I could have a drink!
I have a ridiculously short Luteal phase (days between ovulation and period - should be 12-14) - 7 days, the clomid has never made any difference to those 7 days, this is the first month I have tried the progesterone and I ave made it to day 10, never happened in the 2 and a bit years I have been charting so at least I know the progesterone does do something! However, I am having propper period pains, on and off last night and still there now, its as if my uterus is deperate to throw itself out but the progesterone wont let it!
To my question! - Well there are actually 3!
1) Anyone taken cyclogest - will this stop your period until you stop taking them or can you bleed through them?
2) Did anyone get -ve test and then later on a +ve? (what days)
3) I have read cramping can be a sign of implantation - do you think 10 DPO is to late?
I have 1 more month of the fun filled cyclogest (200mg twice a day) then doc said IVF was really our only hope so I could really do with some luck, baby dust, pretty much anything anyone wants to throw at me!
And the best part about today after my -ve preg test, I have arranged a surprise baby shower with my friends for one of the girls who is due next month! So time to squash all sad thoughts away, stick on fake smile and lock that green eyed monster in a cupboard.

CD 22

This post is in 2 parts as one I had typed out earlier and saved to draft and then I phoned the doctor's and got my blood results later this afternoon.



God I'm feeling like such an idiot!!

I though my opk sticks were positive last thursday and friday but have just been looking at the instructions again and as the test line was not as dark as the control line it would appear that they were still negative.

I am pretty gutted as that means another month where I haven't ovulated. I should get the rest of my blood results back either later today or tomorrow which should confirm that my stupid body is still not ovulating.

At least if this is confirmed then the doctor will hopefully up my dose of Clomid so I can go onto 100mg rather than the 50mg I've been taking.

I've been reading around a bit about Clomid and wonder what is the point in starting us on 50mg if it almost certainly won't work.

Sorry for this ranty post. I think I will phone the surgery this afternoon and see if my results are back and then I can make an appointment to see my doctor to discuss the results before AF is due to start on Tuesday.



Well got part of my blood results today. Still don't know the progesterone results so still in the dark over whether they have improved since December or not. They were 2 then and apparently they are supposed to be over 30.

Anyway these are the results I do have:

TSH - 1.83
FSH - 3.3
LH - 3.2
Prolactin - 141

From what I can tell by googling them these are normal but am not sure about LH whether that should have been higher or not as it was a cd 21 blood test.

The receptionist said that the doctor wanted to discuss the results but there are no appointments with him for a week and a half so he is going to phone me tomorrow morning and discuss the next step. I am assuming that he will increase my dose of Clomid to 100mg.

Just want AF to show up on time on Tuesday so I can crack on with the next cycle and fingers crossed it will be our turn next month!.
